Antonine Fathers School of Music (EMPA) is an institution founded in 1981 by the Antonine Maronite Order and recognized by the Ministry of Education under the Presidential Decree No. 4110. The mission of Antonine Fathers School of Music (EMPA) in Antonine University (UPA) is to serve the nation by giving the candidates the opportunity to study music seriously and to contribute to higher levels of artistic and cultural development by training skillful and competent professional artists. EMPA was founded in 1981 by Reverend Maestro Joseph Waked oam.
EMPA Departments of Western art music and Arabic classical music offer practical and theoretical courses. The Department of Western art music (DMSO) oversees the learning curriculum of European art music in its various dimensions: practical vocal and instrumental music, choral conducting, composition and theoretical subjects.
The Department of Arabic Classical Music and Oriental Musical Traditions (DMSA) oversees the theory of learning curriculum and the practice of the Middle Eastern learned musical traditions which are secular and sacred.
